Other images I have seen identify this as Selaginella flabellata (L.) Spring.
The only problem is that authoritative works do not list this species as part of the Puerto Rico flora.
A small waterfall a few hundred meters before La Mina Falls La Mina Falls is a very popular spot for tourists and locals Can you find our group on the bridge over the stream? El Yunque Forest, as seen from the trail.
In the foreground are a couple of Cyathea arborea (L.) Sm.
